The Glory of Spring
Is winter getting you down? Do you need a change in routine for 2026? Then come sing with Sippican Choral Society as we begin rehearsals for "The Glory of Spring." Our first rehearsal is Monday, January 12, 7:00 p.m., at Wickenden Chapel, 86 Spring St., Marion. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and singers are asked to come early to register and pick up their music envelopes. If you are unsure about being able to sing with the group, come anyway, try out the music for two weeks, then decide. Dues of $40.00 are due by the third rehearsal for all singers.
The concert itself will be held at Wickenden Chapel on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Our featured work will be Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria," one of sacred music's most uplifting choral works. We will also perform Mendelssohn's gentle prayer, "Verleih uns Frieden." These pieces, together with the lovely harmonies of Haydn, the humor of Gilbert and Sullivan, and the rousing rhythms of American spirituals, will guarantee a most glorious welcome to Spring.
